Mai Tam House of Hope
Providing care and support for women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Vietnam

Who We Are
Mai Tam House of Hope was founded by Father John Toai, a Catholic priest, nurse practitioner, and clinical psychiatrist dedicated to serving children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Father John also leads the Pastoral Care Program for People Living with HIV/AIDS in the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City.
Every day, a dedicated team of nurses, caregivers, teachers, social workers, peer educators, and support staff work together to provide healthcare, education, counselling, and a stable, nurturing environment for the children and mothers in our care.
The Mai Tam Project is a volunteer-led organization that supports Mai Tam House of Hope through fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship. Together, we help ensure that children and mothers living with HIV/AIDS have access to the care, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our Mission
Founded in 2005 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Mai Tam House of Hope provides a safe and loving home for children and mothers living with HIV/AIDS.
Our mission is to help every resident live a healthy, dignified, and hopeful life. Through access to medical care, nutritious food, education, counselling, and family support, we create opportunities for children and families to grow, learn, and build brighter futures.
What began as a small effort to care for vulnerable children and women has grown into a vibrant community that continues to transform lives through compassion, stability, and hope.
